Faith to Bless

by Melanie Busby

I was hesitant on writing a blog for Kingdom Builders because I thought I would miss the mark, but I heard Him whisper something, “I will give you the words to write! I have faith in you so have faith in yourself, My Love.”

I can have faith in myself because he has given me faith to trust in Him, and that’s all I need, belief; belief that His power runs through me, His strength gives me strength, and His words can be my words.

“A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?” His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’” But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”” Mark 5:25-34 NLT

That hemorrhaging woman only wanted one touch of a tassel, one touch as Jesus walked through hundreds and hundreds of people. She didn’t even want Him to acknowledge her or look her way. She truly believed in her heart that His healing power would work through that touch, that if she could just touch a small fragment of his garment, she would be healed from 12 years of suffering, 12 years of medical mystery that no physician could help with even at the slightest. With no worldly medical degree, or even experience given to Him, this suffering woman knew in her heart that Jesus could not only help her ailment, but cure her completely. Because of that huge faith, it blessed Jesus immensely; so much so that she was instantly healed by that small touch. She looked outside of the world and laid her hope in only what she heard through the townspeople of the miracles He was performing. She never once saw Jesus or met Jesus or saw first-hand His healing power, yet her heart knew she could be healed by just a small touch of his cloak.

Did you know it not only pleases Jesus when we have faith in Him, but it also BLESSES Him? THINK ABOUT THAT FOR ONE MINUTE. Can we as humans actually bless the Lord like he blesses us? Yes, we can. Just by believing in Him and Him alone pleases and blesses Him. What an amazing thing we as believers can do to bless Jesus back for all of the blessings He has bestowed upon us! When we do trust in Him and Him alone, He surely will answer our prayers.

We don’t owe Jesus anything for coming to earth as human and dying on the cross for us so that our sins are no more. Nothing.

Yet, what an honor and privilege when the one who died for my sins comes face to face with me one day to say, “daughter of the most High, thank you for blessing me.”

I owe Him nothing other than my belief in Him. To follow Jesus is to believe in His undenying power, His love, His healing, His friendship, His obedience, and His everything.

When this world throws us lemons, because it will and it does, we rely on our belief that Jesus is bigger than all of the mess and noise. We rely on the fact that even if plans don’t go our way, if life isn’t “fair” for us, it is ultimately His plan for us that will produce good fruits as we place our trust in Him. His plan is higher than our own.

This world….it has no meaning if there is no end game. There has to be something bigger and better when we pass from this world, and there is…you just have to believe. His name is Jesus. His name is the way to the gates of Heaven, a place where there is no more suffering, no more pain. Do you want this? Where have you been placing your faith? There will be a day where we come face to face with the Lord of lords and King of kings. Will He tell you that you have blessed Him? I sure hope so.
